To avoid/fix this, simply right-click on the desktop and open Screen Resolution. Known issue: on Windows 7 and up (maybe even some earlier versions), the game's colors are all garbled. It is configured to run 1280x800 resolution. To keep save files in the same folder, run as administrator. Runs on all Windows (including 7 and up). If you want a particular patch, just extract that into the game folder and you'll be set. Later patches are included, but the MultiRes plugin only works on 1.12. Every time i close the game :Pį64051ab07477d16264034afc75c289b *Patch_D2.Pre-installed Diablo II: Lord of Destruction from Blizzard Entertainment patch 1.12 (English) with MultiRes plugin that lets you run the game in high resolutions. I'd say do a md5 sum on the mpq files and see if they don't match, which would mean simply deleting and re-copying would help ( simply overwriting doesn't seem to always work) I remember years ago the game constantly stalling at certain points, and it seemed the music mpq file was corrupted, which made the game die. My suggestion would be to re-install it, since little errors can make the game unstable. It's a known error when using Zy-El, however for the base game that's a little different. "Access_Violation (c0000005) I see that error.
